50% of players answered correctly.

THE CORRECT ANSWER: Chile

Chile became, during the 2010s, one of the most attractive destinations for the Haitian diaspora in South America. Fleeing economic difficulties and the consequences of the 2010 earthquake, tens of thousands of our brothers and sisters undertook this long journey to the Southern Cone.Despite a significant language barrier with the Spanish language and a particularly cold climate in winter, the Haitian community has demonstrated remarkable resilience. Settled mainly in the municipalities of Santiago, such as Quilicura, migrants actively work in the construction, commerce and service sectors. This migratory wave has profoundly modified the Chilean demographic landscape, traditionally unaccustomed to Caribbean immigration. Today, although migration policies have tightened, the Haitian community in Chile remains a dynamic pillar and a major economic force for the country.
