THE CORRECT ANSWER: San Francisco

The Golden Gate Bridge is undoubtedly one of the most iconic suspension bridges in the world. Located in California, it crosses the Golden Gate Strait to connect the city of San Francisco to the Marin Peninsula. Inaugurated in 1937 after four years of titanic work, this colossal structure has long held the record for the longest suspension bridge on the planet. Its characteristic shade, officially called “international orange”, was not chosen at random. It allows the bridge to remain perfectly visible to ships, even when the legendary thick fog of the bay sets in. Now listed among the wonders of the modern world by the American Society of Civil Engineers, it attracts millions of visitors each year who come to admire its exceptional art deco architecture and its unforgettable silhouette against the Pacific Ocean.
