75% of players answered correctly.

THE CORRECT ANSWER: The Duge Bridge

The Duge Bridge, also known as the Beipanjiang Bridge, is a colossal feat of engineering located in southwest China, on the border between Guizhou and Yunnan provinces. Inaugurated in December 2016, this cable-stayed structure marked the history of civil engineering by becoming the highest bridge in the world. Its deck crosses the deep valley of the Beipan River at a dizzying height of 565 meters above the void, an altitude greater than the height of the Empire State Building. With a total length of 1,341 meters, the bridge was designed to open up this difficult-to-access mountainous region and reduce travel time between the towns of Liupanshui and Xuanwei from five hours to less than two hours. Its construction represented an extreme technical challenge in the face of local geological and meteorological conditions.
