50% of players answered correctly.

THE CORRECT ANSWER: UNITED STATES

Yellowstone National Park is a global icon of natural heritage. Founded in 1872, it is officially recognized as the very first national park in modern history. Located mainly in the state of Wyoming, it also extends into Montana and Idaho. The park is based on a gigantic active supervolcano, which explains its intense geothermal activity. There are more than half of the planet's geysers there, including the famous Old Faithful which erupts at regular intervals. Yellowstone also provides a vital refuge for impressive wildlife, including herds of bison, gray wolves, wildebeest, coyotes and grizly bears. Each year, millions of visitors travel through its diverse landscapes, made up of large lakes, deep canyons, coniferous forests and hot springs with spectacular multi-colored colors.
